Over thirty years ago, the Carolinas Chapter of IDS was formed. The group included designers from North and South Carolina, and even had participating members from as far away as Augusta, Georgia.
The history of IDS Charlotte is one of remarkable progress. In 1984 this chapter reorganized into the Greater Charlotte IDS Chapter, which was more demographically located to serve residential interior designers located in the Charlotte-Metro area. About twenty professionals attended the first meeting at Ethan Allen on Independence Boulevard. Today the quality and caliber of our chapter members is proof of the continued growth of our organization in education, networking, and charitable fund-raising events.
Our members have the highest standards of education and experience. We are committed to the individual styles and tastes of our clients, and work with them to achieve excellence in interior design. We can plan your space and help coordinate the total look for your home, including selection of colors, wall coverings, fabrics, carpet, furniture, window treatments, lighting and accessories. As specialists in residential interior design, we are devoted to making interior spaces work for all members of your family.
By enlisting our professional help, clients not only save wasted hours of shopping, but eliminate the worry and uncertainty of important interior design decisions which lead to costly mistakes. IDS members understand that time is truly valuable. Though fees for interior design services vary, we welcome frank discussions regarding reasonable budget considerations. Every effort is made to schedule job progress to meet client requirements, while allowing sufficient time to achieve the best possible results.
